When we first opened Moon Hill Brewing Co. at the site of the Gardner Ale House it was our aim to do things differently. Don’t just be a restaurant; don’t just be a brewery; be another kind of place. The kind that’s just interesting to enter, interesting to look around. Everybody else closes on Mondays because business is slow.

We decided to stay open and see if we could do something about that slow business. Our latest entry into the field of Monday enticements is Buck A Shuck. There is something about this offer that is simply indulgent. It’s a little embarrassing and it’s a lot of fun. Started by home brewer Rick Walton in 2006, Gardner Ale House is a family-oriented brewpub and restaurant.

As with most city-builders, Manor Lords has a frightful number of different resources to craft, and needs to fulfil to keep your populace happy. And as we all know, the key to a happy citizen is alcohol. Ale can be drunk at a Tavern to keep your citizens jolly, but the process to create your own Ale is not at all straightforward. We also use different external services like Google Webfonts, Google Maps, and external Video providers. To miss this is sadness, to compete is insanity. The Ale House owner was insane once, and paid for it. He actually, believably, faked his own death for about 15 seconds. Some people didn’t think it was funny.
He thought he was in too much pain to pull it off anyway – he had to moan and writhe, as required. We have the authentic German fare of sausages, sauerkraut, potato salad, and soft pretzels. We sport our Moon Hill Brewing Co.’s Oktoberfest Lager and much more beer, beer, beer.
We make our own beer, and just about everything on our casual, bistro style menu. We generally have 14 of our beers on tap. Live music Thursday-Saturday & Monday. With Boston style ambiance, we are your oasis in North Central Massachusetts!
Dubbed “Party In The Street”, Oktoberfest is a profession of our wanton love of celebration in a moderately regulated fashion, outside, for everyone. Perhaps the key words here are party, wanton, outside and everyone. Such a celebration cannot occur very often or it will dull itself. However, as it does occur, the thrill goes right through ones bones. And as our Oktoberfest grows and adds more community groups and more events, the opportunities to play are myriad, the interconnections nearly numberless. Oktoberfest is the essential celebration that identifies the Ale House and what it is and wants to be for people and Downtown Gardner. We hope you can come out and celebrate an ambitious project-in-people called Gardner Ale House. We are twice as big on this day and the Downtown merchants are in on it, too.
Breakfast
One of these extensions is the Brewery, which is what you need to turn Malt into Ale. Once you have a supply of Barley, you can turn it into Malt by constructing a Malthouse. The Malthouse is found in the Industry tab of the build menu, and can be constructed out of 4x Timber. We'd recommend building it close to the Farmhouse, to minimise travel time between the two buildings.
It’s an Oktoberfest thing and we are an officially sanctioned competition site for the Massachusetts contest. The winners go to Jack’s Abbey Oktoberfest in Framingham the following weekend to compete for the state championship dressed in Moon Hill t-shirt and hat. So every Monday afternoon, beginning at 4pm we break out the New England oysters. They come from all over and they all taste different. You can become a connoisseur in just 4 visits, an expert in just 8 and a bon vivant any time you want. With authentic German folk music by the Hofbrahaus Bavarians, playing in the morning, we now begin formally with this tapping and the singing of Ein Prosit. Inside it’s a taproom with a beautiful bar with seating for 100 and a ceiling fan that will leave you breathless, literally.

In addition to our clean, well maintained 38 draught craft taps, we offer a wide selection of wines and cocktails, ensuring we have something to please everyone.
